Overview

Indiana's NewsCenter has partnered with Fort Wayne Toyota, Lexus of Fort Wayne and the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre to recognize area youth grades 6-12 that are gifted in the areas of voice, instrumental work, visual art, dance or acting. The contest is open to anyone in our primary viewing area which includes Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, Noble, Paulding, Steuben, Van Wert, Wabash, Whitley, or Wells counties.

Visibility of the Contest

The monthly winner of the Golden Arts Award will be featured in Indiana's NewsCenter at 5pm on 21Alive and again at 5:30 p.m. on NBC33 during the third Tuesday of each month or as available by the newsroom. After each winner is named, a 30 second vignette highlighting the winner will be produced and aired in rotation across our 5 stations as well as posted on YOU NEWS, our viewer-driven video online server.

Nomination Process / Formats Accepted

Student artists are to be nominated by their teachers and/or mentors for the Golden Arts Award. Nominations will consists of an online form that can be downloaded from indianasnewscenter.com, which will need to be mailed in with any materials available to assist in the judging.

Materials to be submitted with the nomination form would include one of the following:

» CDs with audio of the student's vocal or instrumental performance, 5 minute maximum.

» VHS or DVD featuring the student's acting or dance performance, 5 minute maximum.

» Electronic Photograph/Scanned Copy (on CD Rom) of the student's visual art or photography; .jpg, .gif or .tif files are required

In the event of original artwork, please send in a photograph or scanned copy of the original. When entering, please note entries submitted may be used on the air, online or both.
